Leonard S. DeFranco concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, corporate and personal tax-related transactions, and real estate. Leonard is a former chairman of the Federal Tax Section of the Illinois Bar and in 2001, was president of the DuPage County Estate Planning Society. A member of the American Bar Association since 1978, Leonard is a working member of the Committee on Small Business, Section of Taxation, and a member of the Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, including the section on Intellectual Property Law. Since 1995, Mr. DeFranco has been a participant in the annual SEC Government Business Forum on Small Business Capital Formation. This Forum meets regularly in Washington, DC with senior officials of various federal agencies and legislative aides to address topical tax matters. Mr. DeFranco is a graduate of Marquette University (B.S. 1975) and John Marshall Law School (J.D., 1978 and LL.M. in Taxation, 1981).
